Sketching the Rough |

From my head to the pencil to the paper...
In the first part of the process I create a rough idea of what the finished image should look like. I do most of my sketches on classic heavy weight drawing paper with a 6B soft charcoal pencil. I tighten up the lines with a 2B pencil and then scan the rough into Photoshop. I scan the rough at 300 dpi. What I end up with after this stage of the creation is a scanned photoshop image of my rough idea.... ready to be inked and colored right here on the computer! For this particular project I was asked to create a humorous baseball player character for a building supply company (Home Run Builders). As soon as the rough is approved by the client its time to ink... |
